The main content of life is ultimately completed in daily necessities, eating, drinking, working, and studying. Whether you live happily or unhappily mainly depends on whether you can quickly calm yourself down when various emotions surge, and calmly continue with daily necessities, eating, drinking, working, and studying.
It is difficult for people to grow and gain experience in joy and entertainment. All our abilities and wisdom actually originate from pain. That is to say, hardships and tribulations are the source of wisdom and strength.
Follow the guidance of your body. You might want to cry, you might want to speak, you might want to shout, you might want to hit, or you might want to hug yourself. In short, as long as it doesn't harm yourself or others, let your body move as it wants until it feels more comfortable. Understand that the body is often wiser than our brain.
Christopher K. Germer, a clinical psychologist at Harvard Medical School, wrote in "You Are Stronger When You Don't Fight Yourself": "Most of the suffering in life is not caused by others, but by fighting with oneself." Life has more disappointments than satisfactions, hence the saying that life is mostly unsatisfactory, and no one is an exception. It's just that we often know our own dissatisfactions but not those of others. Only by treating all kinds of dissatisfactions as the norm of life and living in harmony with them can we feel tranquility and happiness.
To be honest, I can't imagine how heartbroken I would be if my daughter and I were separated one day. My daughter's crying also stirred up a lot of sadness and bitterness deep inside me. But I also know clearly that life is impermanent, and the only certainty is that one day, sooner or later, my daughter and I will face the eternal farewell of separation. This is life. If I can prepare my daughter earlier, it would be a good thing, so that if an accident happens, she would have been prepared and would not suffer too much due.
