Trivia in Dali: Picking up the car, changing brake pads, and a night in the village

Yesterday I went to Dali city to pick up a car. The car was parked in Vanke Community for two months. A person I found on Xiaohongshu said that he bought more than 100 parking spaces in Vanke to provide convenience for everyone. It cost 200 a month. I thought it was pretty good and looked reliable. When I left, I said hello to him on WeChat. The guy replied on WeChat: "Welcome to come again next time. I am also from Shanghai." It was a bit interesting. When I asked, it turned out that he bought a house in Dali for vacation. His home was in Baoshan District and he opened a travel agency on Changde Road.

I went to the city to replace the brake pads. The brake pads I bought on JD.com were replaced at a designated local service provider.

I drove to Caicun to pick up the express delivery, which I had sent there many days ago. I thought I would live in Caicun first when I came to Dali, but I ended up living in the ancient city. Caicun is a village on the Erhai Lake, 4 kilometers away from the ancient city. There are also inns and B&Bs, and there are many tourists during the peak season.

I found a B&B in Caicun and stayed in it. The B&B looked very new and it felt like it had been renovated within half a year. Just when I was ordering dinner, I checked and found that there was nothing to eat near where I lived, so I drove to the ancient city for dinner. It was still a little early after dinner, and I had a glass of fresh beer at a craft brewery I had been to before. After drinking half of it, I realized that I came by car, so I didn’t dare to drive back rashly. If I was investigated for 12 points and everything was over, I took a taxi back to the ancient city. The car was left in the ancient city.

When night falls in Caicun, it is much quieter than the ancient city. Sitting in the yard at night, there is no other sound except the chirping of insects. I can sleep soundly tonight.
